Picking a four-bedroom house in Jacó for eight

If you want four bedrooms in Garabito, the canton that covers Jacó and Herradura, the house to start with is Casa Rivera. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, six beds, sleeps eight, in a gated community in the southern end of Jacó. That's the straight answer. The more useful answer is that "four bedrooms" is usually shorthand for something else, and it's worth working out what you actually mean before you book.
Four bedrooms, or eight people?
These are different requests, and people searching tend to conflate them. Casa Rivera is built for eight across four rooms, which means couples get doors and kids get their own space. If your group is eight adults who'd all like a room each, you're asking a four-bedroom house to do something it can't.
Which is where Zenergy Casa & Cabinas comes in, and it's the home most people in this search never find because they filtered it out at the bedroom count. It's six bedrooms and sleeps thirteen, but the shape is what matters: a main house with three bedrooms, plus three separate guest cabinas in the garden. Two of the main-house bedrooms share a bathroom, the third has its own. If your eight people are four couples, or two families who'd rather not share a hallway at six in the morning, the cabinas solve a problem that no amount of bedrooms under one roof solves. There's a crib here too, which decides things for anyone travelling with a toddler.
So: eight people who are one family or two, Casa Rivera. Eight people who want to be near each other but not in each other's pockets, Zenergy.
What Casa Rivera is actually like to stay in
It sits inside a gated community in the south end of Jacó, in walking distance of the beach, with tropical gardens, shaded lounging and the kind of shared grounds that keep teenagers busy without a car: tennis, mini golf, volleyball, a lap pool, walking paths, a yoga deck. The house has its own ping-pong table and a patio, and the community pool is a short walk rather than a drive.
Inside, the detail that matters most to a group of eight is the kitchen. Full stove and oven, a dishwasher, and an ice maker, which sounds trivial until it's thirty-odd degrees and you're making drinks for eight people twice a day. Jacó has real restaurants worth the walk, Soda Garabito and Soda Jaco Rustico for casual local food, El Manglar Seafood & Grill and Hartley Ranch Prime Steakhouse when you want to sit down properly, but a group this size cooks at least half its meals, and this kitchen is set up for it. Washer and dryer too, which is what turns a week into two.
There's a dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi, so one person taking calls while everyone else swims is a workable arrangement rather than a sulking match over the dining table.
Where Jacó puts you
Jacó Beach runs about two miles in front of town, long enough for a proper walk, and busy at weekends and on Costa Rican holidays. It's the surf beach and the nightlife town, with the restaurants and bars a short ride from the south end.
Ten to twenty minutes north, depending where you start, Playa Herradura curves into a horseshoe with water calm enough for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. That's the beach to use with small children. Fifteen minutes further north, Playa Blanca and Playa Mantas sit inside the Punta Leona resort property, so you drive in to reach them. South, Playa Hermosa is barely down the road and serious about its surf. From San José the drive is roughly an hour and a half on good road.

If your group is smaller than you thought
Groups shrink. Someone's work trip moves, a couple drops out, and suddenly four bedrooms is more house than you need. We have ten places in Garabito, and two are worth knowing about if six is your real number.
- Condo Brisa, three bedrooms, sleeps six, in the northern part of Jacó at Viva Jacó. Mountain views from the balcony, and scarlet macaws turn up often enough that guests stop photographing them by day three.
- Cabina Plumeria and Cabina Bamboo, two cabinas, sleeps five, with a patio and garden. Good for a couple travelling with another couple, or a small family.
Both are a step down in shared outdoor space from Casa Rivera's grounds, which is the real trade you're making.
What to settle before you book
Three things change the answer, and they're worth a message rather than a guess.
- Who sleeps where. Tell us the actual make-up of the group, four adults and four kids reads very differently from eight adults, and we'll tell you which of the two houses fits.
- Pets. We have pet-friendly homes in the portfolio, but policies are per house. Ask before you arrange the flights, not after.
- Shared facilities. Access rules for the community pool, tennis and the rest can change with the season and the community's own calendar, so we'll confirm what's open for your dates.
Rates, minimum stays and current availability we'll give you directly. Booking direct means no middlemen or platform fees, and the person answering is the person who manages the house.
